PHILANTHROPY

from the heart, for the heart

In 2021, the Red Dress Gala was a huge success! On October 1st, Gamma Phi hosted its 10th annual Red Dress Gala. Red Dress Gala is Alpha Phi’s silent and live auction philanthropy. Families, friends, and alumni were invited to spend an elegant evening of dining, laughing, and dancing held during FSU’s Parents Weekend. Once the silent auction and dinner has concluded, the live auction takes place and paddles go up while guests begin biding for prizes such as weekend trips, football game tickets, or week long vacations at beach villas. Proceeds from Red Dress Gala go to the Alpha Phi Foundation and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our members, $27,000 was raised!

MR. HEART THROB

In February of 2022, we had our inaugural sweetheart competition, Mr. Heart Throb. This event is a male pageant competition (parody to Miss America) that we hold in the spring semester.  Many of the contestants running for the title of Mr. Heart Throb are from all different organizations whether it be Greek life, the athletic department, or independently.  There are a range of categories that each contestant competes in such as; Introductions, Talent, and Interview.  It's great to see the outcome of this chapter's hard work, dedication, and effort to make this event such a success. This year we hosted the biggest Mr. HeartThrob pageant to date, raising over $35,000 for women's heart health!
