One of our founders’ highest ideals was the value of scholarship, and it remains an important value to the Alpha Phis at Florida State University. We are very proud that our sisterhood received the Greek Award for Excellence in Academics this year. In addition to awards, our sisters represent us as members and leaders in a variety of honor societies such as Order of Omega, Rho Lambda, Garnet & Gold Key, and Phi Eta Sigma.

As a chapter, we promote the importance of scholarship with weekly study hours and reward sisters for their academic excellence with weekly “Yay's for A's” drawings.  Each semester we hold an academic dinner to recognize our sisters with high academic achievement. Our “Ivy League" is our own version of an honor society and sisters that earned the required GPA receive a unique merchandise item.

 

Sisters major in anything from theatre to pre-med, and sisters with similar majors help each other by forming study groups to increase their academic performance. During the summers, many sisters pack their bags and travel overseas together through FSU’s Study Abroad Program. Whether in Italy, England or Spain, an Alpha Phi is always striving to learn more with a sister by her side.
